There is a new car coming out 2nd quarter of next year called Karma, it’s made by Fisker Automotive. This car looks like a cross between a Corvette and an Aston Martin; it looks very fast and exotic. The thing is though it is also a very green car. It is made with eco-friendly materials and utilizes Q-Drive which is Fisker’s hybrid technology. It uses a battery with gasoline and unique to the Karma it also utilizes solar. A fully-charged Karma burns no fuel for the first 50 miles. Drive further than that and the gasoline engine turns into a generator to charge the lithium ion battery. After the first 50 miles it turns into a regular hybrid engine. It also has a solar panel on the roof to help charge the batteries and also run small electronics in the car.
It has an engine that generates 403hp, it can reach 60mph in six seconds and a top speed of 125mph, yet it can achieve more than 100mpg on an annual basis if you drive less than 50 miles a day and plug the car in overnight to rechrage the batteries. The Karma has a total range of 300 miles. A very cool looking car I only wish I could have driven it, I guess I’ll have to wait until next year when dealers can start selling them. It will be avaiable the second quarter of next year and have a price tag of $87,900.00 with 15,000 being produced annually.
The car is a four door but don’t let that fool you, it is really a two butt car. The only people that can comfortably fit in the back seat are children and small ones at that. The back seat might fit someone a little bigger if you have a very short person driving There is plenty of room in the driver and passenger seat for tall people when the seats is all the way back. It has a spacious trunk which fits two sets of golf clubs. A great car to take when you and your spouse or a friend go on a golf road trip. You definately will arrive in style in this car.
