According to Hyundai Motor Company’s top US official a “price war” has started.  This is good news for consumers, even better pricing will be available and with my help you can benefit.

“I think we can officially say that a price war broke out in the industry,” John Krafcik, CEO of Hyundai Motor America, said on the sidelines of the Chicago auto show. “There is apparently a lot of pressure to deliver sales results.”(reprinted from an article in Automotive News online 2/9/11)

Basically, what’ going on is that GM has started the old game of putting heavy incentives on there cars to move them, this is good now, bur bad later because it drops the value of the cars for resale.  Toyota has followed suite but are doing this mainly through heavily incentivized leasing and APR programs.  It will be interesting to see what manufacturers will follow with big incentives.
