Twelve Tips When Buying Your Next Car

  1. Become familiar with the various manufacturers pricing systems.
  2. Look up true market value of the cars your interested in, truecar.com is a great resource for this.
  3. Decide on several different cars your interested in.
  4. Test drive all of them.
  5. Decide on a final choice.
  6. Submit online to get quotes from 5 or 6 different dealers.
  7. If you have a trade-in get it’s true market value.  This can be done on line using Kelley Blue Book, NADA Guides, Edmunds, etc.
  8. Once you receive quotes start contact the dealers and see if they will beat your lowest quote.
  9. When you have decided on a dealer make sure to have them send you a copy of the worksheet they are using, make sure it has , price, options, any dealer added fees, etc.
  10. Make sure to take the worksheet when you go in for delivery to confirm that everything is the same.
  11. The finance department will finalize the paperwork, when you are meeting with them  will try to sell you on additional products like extended warranties, etc.  If your interested in any of these decide in advance then stick to your guns.
  12. Finally, take delivery.

Doing all of this can make the car buying process more enjoyable.
