• Know exactly what you want – research and know availability.  Don’t let a car salesperson talk you into something you don’t want.
• Know the price, both dealer invoice and MSRP.  This information is readily available online.
• Know what you can afford.
• Decide how much profit the dealer can make. If the car you want is in short supply be prepared to offer more profit.
• Know your finance options.  Car manufacturers often have very competitive rates and lease deals as does your local bank or credit union.

Following these simple steps will make the car buying experience much more enjoyable.
