Should You Buy a Car Now or Wait?
That’s a question many people are asking themselves right now. It’s especially a good question to ponder now as we approach the end of the year. Well the answer to this question isn’t so simple, what I mean by this is that there are several things to consider before you run out to buy something.
- If you’re considering something new it probably is a good time to buy, manufactures are all pushing to get more numbers for the end of the year. Therefore there are some really good deals out there now. It’s really the same thing with used cars also, dealers are having this same push to get more sales before the end of the year.
- Do you live in a state that has a personal property tax like Missouri? Anything you own before the end of the year you have to pay tax on, if you wait until after the new year you can put off paying this tax. The one drawback to doing this is you might loose the car you were hoping to buy.
- Are you looking to give a loved one a Christmas present of a car? Obviously, now is the time to buy.
- If you can wait, the week between Christmas and New Years is always a good time to buy because of the year end push.
